Looking for a quick and easy breakfast smoothie with whole ingredients that takes very little time to make? Look no further!
This peanut butter banana smoothie is a great morning pick-me-up because of the sugar in the banana, and will sustain you for hours because of the protein in the peanut butter and almond milk.
Because I have celiac disease, I try very hard to avoid grains of all kinds (gluten free or not), dairy, and sugar (outside of fruits).
That obviously removes a lot of traditional foods from my diet as well as all the standard, comfort meals and foods.
I rely heavily on smoothies to satisfy me desire for a dessert or for a sweet treat. It’s easy to make them sweet and delicious.
Also, you don’t have to be a talented cook to change the ingredients and come up with a delicious new recipe!
PEANUT BUTTER BANANA SMOOTHIE
- 1 Banana
- 2 Tbsp Peanut Butter
- 3/4 Cup Almond Milk
- 1/4 tsp Stevia Powder
- 4 Ice Cubes
- Combine all ingredients in a high-speed blender and blend until smooth.
I highly recommend the Malk brand of almond milk due to its very pure ingredients.
If you are on a paleo diet or struggle with peanuts, substitute the peanut butter with almond butter or cashew butter. It’s just as delicious!
If you like to experiement, try adding a touch of cinnamon, nutmeg, or baking spice.
Some benefits of peanuts and peanut butter include potassium, fiber content, vitamin E (antioxidant), magnesium (good for bone building and muscle recovery), B6 (immune boosting), and zinc (also immune boosting).
If you’re considering making smoothies, shakes, dressings, and sauces for yourself, I highly recommend getting a Vitamix or Blendtec blender.
I have a Vitamix, and the difference between something made in a regular blender and something made in my Vitamix is quite significant.
I rely on simple and fast recipes, but the recipes have to be delicious! I don’t cook because I enjoy it, but because I have celiac disease and need to eat a healthy gluten free diet. So efficiency and tastiness are the top criteria! The gluten free recipes I post are quick, easy, and yummy!
