There is a new flavor of Girl Scout gluten free cookies for sale this year—Caramel Chocolate Chip. It will join Toffee-tastic as the 2 gluten free Girl Scout cookie options this season.
TOFFEE-TASTIC GLUTEN FREE GIRL SCOUT COOKIES
The Toffee-tastic cookies are certified gluten free by NSF which means they are guaranteed to have 15 parts per million of gluten or less.
I think it’s fantastic that the Girl Scouts have gluten free options and are making sure they’re safe with gluten free certification.
The toffee-tastic cookies do contain milk, corn, and soy. But it seems they’ve made an effort to exclude high fructose corny syrup and partially hydrogenated oils from the ingredients in this cookie.
CARAMEL CHOCOLATE CHIP GLUTEN FREE GIRL SCOUT COOKIES
The caramel chocolate chip cookies are not quite as clean. They have a few more chemicals in them. They also contain milk, egg, and corn.
The gluten free flavors may be a little more expensive than the other cookies since they cost a bit more to make.
And the gluten free cookie options may not be available in every region. If you want to know what’s available in your area, reach out to your local Girl Scout council.
The gluten free cookies are also only available as long as supplies last. So if you want some, don’t wait too long to buy them.
GIRL SCOUT COOKIE PROGRAM
The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world.
When you purchase their cookies, you’re supporting the Girl Scout program. All earnings stay local, so you are contributing to your immediate community.
The cookie program is intended to teach 5 specific skills to the girls who participate: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics.
So if you feel guilty buying cookies, but you’re craving sweets, you can placate your conscience by knowing it truly is for a good cause!
